Sod-Turning Ceremony for The Citrus Close Housing Development

Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley officially turned the sod for the construction of the Citrus Close Housing Development today (Tuesday 12th March, 2024).

The new apartment complex will be located on the Eastern Main Road, Laventille. The property was formerly occupied by the Co-operative Citrus Growers Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

The modern development will comprise of ten four-story apartment buildings. It is expected to house a community of 191 families, with 148 three-bedroom apartments and 43 two-bedroom apartments. The project also includes associated infrastructure and amenities such as a basketball court, football field, accommodation for commercial activities and multipurpose spaces.

Minister of Housing and Urban Development, the Hon. Camille Robinson-Regis, Minister in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and Member of Parliament for Laventille East/Morvant, the Hon. Adrian Leonce, Minister of National Security and Member of Parliament for Laventille West, the Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds and Member of Parliament for Port of Spain South, the Hon. Keith Scotland also attended today’s event.
