Trinidad and Tobago Stands Committed to Strengthening Bilateral Ties with Ghana.

Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley made the statement as he spoke during an official visit to Jubilee House, the official residence and Office of the President of Ghana today (Thursday 5th March 2020).

At a meeting held with President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr Rowley highlighted opportunities for both countries to concretise efforts which have been in the making since 2010. He stated that Ghana continues to be a gateway into the southern belly of Africa, and he anxiously awaits the resuscitation and reestablishment of Ghana Airways.

“Once we establish a mutual air services agreement and establish a direct air service between the Caribbean and Africa, we believe that there is tremendous potential for economic growth, there are businesses to flourish, contacts to be made, investments to be made and for recreational purposes.

As you get your new equipment, we would like to anticipate that one of the legs of Ghana Airways would be Accra to Port of Spain, because that will bring all the people from the Caribbean and the Americas on to a highway which would take us directly by the shortest route between the Caribbean across the Atlantic.”

Dr Rowley also noted collaborations to be made between the state National Gas Company and its personnel to take part in the gas processing business.

On Friday Prime Minister Rowley will be the Guest of Honour at Ghana’s 63rd Independence Day celebration, in Kumasi.
