Prime Minister and Chief Secretary Visit Tobago Farmers

Prime Minister Dr the Hon Keith Rowley and Tobago House of Assembly, Chief Secretary the Hon. Ancil Dennis visited a number of farms in Tobago today (Thursday 29 October, 2020).

Dr Rowley said he was particularly pleased to meet young people among the farmers. He said if they are supported and encouraged agriculture has quite a future in Tobago.

Dr Rowley also said that Tobago is fortunate in that it has some of the best soils, noting that the Tobago farmer can support not just the population in Tobago, but can make a considerable contribution to the 1.2 million in Trinidad.

It is expected that some of the Tobago farmers will benefit from the provisions made in the budget and that this assistance will result in increased food production.
