Prime Minister Rowley Visits Coast Guard Headquarters

Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley visited the Coast Guard Headquarters at Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas today.

Prime Minister Rowley received a brief from senior officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard regarding their ongoing activities, toured the facility and vessels.

The Prime Minister announced during a press conference after his tour that Cabinet has decided to place an order with ship maker Austal for two vessels for the coast guard through a financing arrangement courtesy the Australian Government.

This is part of the Government’s continued effort to secure our borders and provide the coast guard with capabilities that it currently does not possess.

The vessels are expected to be ready before the end of 2020.
